Hello. My name is Amy-Elizabeth Pallant, and I’m in my final year studying journalism at Falmouth University. As part of my course I have to write an institutional case study based on one of the questions we were given in the first lesson.
I choose the question “How does the magazine implement web 2.0 on their website?” Given that before we started this unit I had no idea what Web 2.0 was, I am hoping that after some research the idea of writing 5,000 words about it will be less daunting!! Although maybe not, only time will tell.
The magazine I decided on was Horse and Rider. My entire family is involved in the equine world. My mums had horses since she was a child and I have been brought up around them. This particular magazine is one my Mum has a subscription to and I have always read it, when she’s finally finished with it!!
For those who can’t tell from the title, this magazine is about horses! Well that and other thing’s equestrian. On the website the magazine promises “the best, most up-to-date advice from top equestrian experts, real life horse lovers’ stories, news, views and features about everything that’s inspirational in the horse world.”
The date the case study is due in is the 22nd of January, however, before this I have to give a 10 minute presentation to the entire class about my initial findings, my magazine and also the question I have chosen. Seeing as I don’t know the majority of people in my class, as for the first two years I was at Camborne College doing a foundation degree, I am really nervous!
